Client Objective
Operating under strict time constraints, AGEIAS’ client needed to build a relatively low-cost test stand that would facilitate quick testing and data generation. The client required the data to validate their core technology and support further scale-up.

The AGEIAS Approach
The design philosophy was driven by the reality of R&D: you don't know what you don't know. AGEIAS understood the system needed to be flexible as testing would inevitably uncover new information, challenge assumptions and require further equipment changes.
Rather than over-engineering the first system, AGEIAS’ priority was to create an initial system that could generate useful data quickly while still being flexible enough to evolve as their client’s technology evolved.
As AGEIAS’ client learned more from operating the system, they determined that changes were needed to their core technology. Those changes required significant modifications to the test system. Because they had anticipated multiple modifications and proactively designed flexibility into the original system, The AGEIAS team was able to retrofit the test system in approximately one month. The modifications dramatically changed the functionality of the system, without requiring their client to start over and build an entirely new test platform.
Customer Value
AGEIAS’ decision to design for flexibility from the outset saved the client significant time and money. The system wasn't designed only around what the client knew on day one; it was designed around the expectation that the technology, assumptions and testing requirements would change as the company learned. AGEIAS made deliberate engineering choices that would meet the immediate objective without unnecessarily optimizing aspects that were not critical at the beginning stage.
“We were proud to deliver such a versatile system that has been so integral to the client’s rapid technology development”
