Customer Validation Batch Production
Client Objective
An AGEIAS client needed to prepare a 100L sample of a specialty chemical it was developing for evaluation by their prospective customer. At the current stage of development, the chemical was only produced at gram scale in the lab. While scaling the process is an ongoing effort, the client needed a quicker stop gap solution for this production.

The AGEIAS Approach
To meet the potential customer timeline, AGEIAS quickly set up a batch production system with equipment from their in-house inventory to “scale up the experiment”. The setup included a 100L jacketed stainless steel reactor, a hot oil recirculating utility, transfer pumps, and chilled duty condensers for final product isolation. AGEIAS’ system was designed to “brute force” production of their client’s process for validation trials.
Customer Value
AGEIAS’ client significantly reduced costs by not having to design and build a complex production plant — and then only using it for a few trials. AGEIAS made practical engineering decisions that met the client’s immediate needs without unnecessary optimization. At the same time, the team incorporated sampling throughout the batch run to gather valuable process data to support future scale-up.
Capabilities Demonstrated
- Rapid deployment of production and piloting equipment
- Batch production design and operation
- Close collaboration with client technical teams
- Large inventory of processing equipment
How We Help You:
Specialty chemical innovators are often faced with the same challenge: requests for kilograms of product for validation when process development is only at lab gram scales. AGEIAS can help rapidly set up in-house processing equipment to “Scale up the experiment” and meet this limited use production without having to fully invest in a dedicated production system.
